Why I Believe in Proper Financial Planning

I guess when I was younger, this question never quite occurred to me as an important question to ponder about.
It wasn’t till the year 2014, something in me awakened…
I was deeply shocked to receive news that my dearest uncle had passed away. I was grieved beyond words. A man who was extremely fit and healthy. Gone just like that…
Uncle didn’t come from a rich family when he was growing up. He was the sole breadwinner of the family.However, he always lived by hard work. For him, doing the right things in life matters most.
Uncle had planned his life well. He always wanted the best for his family. He didn’t want his family to worry or stress about things.
He made sure my surviving aunty continued to be taken care of.
Every month, she will receive a comfortable and generous amount in her bank account. He also planned for my aunty to enjoy 2 overseas trips every year.
Upon his death, uncle made sure the house loans and car loans were fully settled. The house which my aunty lives in is now fully in her name.
He planned whereby his grandchildren’s education fund was sponsored by gong gong (grandpa). Also every year they get ‘ang pow’ from gong gong in their bank accounts.
He had also planned his last love letter to his family members. Telling each of them not to worry as he had taken care of things before he left the world.
The only message to his children was, “Just take good care of your mom for me”.
His passing opened my eyes on how proper Financial Planning can take care of his family and transfer the love he had for his family after he left the world.
It was that very year that I found my passion for Financial Planning…
I’m passionate to help people who love their families to do the same as what my uncle did. To become their guiding star…

- How can you be fondly remembered by them after you’re long gone?
- How can you ensure your memory is kept freshed and love is felt by your family?
Life is fragile… you do not want to leave room for regrets. To live well, it’s important to plan well. The time is now to start planning.
Uncle, thank you for showing me my passion in life. Till I see you again…
